With the right redesign plan, it's possible to transform an old office into a flat suitable for the needs and taste of a young couple without children. The interior decoration is the result of mixing and matching vintage, industrial and contemporary furniture, with the help of subtle colour accents, which help create a home with a very personal and distinctive character.

The first step in the renovation was to reorganise the 90m² office space to create a modern, bright flat with a large living room capable of accommodating plenty of guests.
After knocking down several walls, the internal layout of the flat was completely transformed. The kitchen and living room are connected: by gaining the depth of both these rooms, the space feels open and free-flowing. The kitchen is loosely separated from the living room by an island, which serves as a communal dining table, and through the different materials used for the flooring.
The suspended ceilings from the former office were removed to gain greater height. The walls are painted in white and grey tones, whilst the old flooring was replaced with dark laminate throughout the home, except in the kitchen and bathrooms, where the floor is covered with porcelain tiles.

The next important element of the design is grey, which forms a unifying theme throughout the home. This colour is present not only on the doors, but also on the furniture, accessories and walls. This touch of industrial style is ideal for creating combinations drawn from different design types and vintage furniture.
Accessories and materials in blue, sea green and yellow are combined with the dark shade of grey and gold finishes. The end result is a beautiful example of the sought-after pop and chic mix and match style. This lounge atmosphere reflects the owners' passion for music.
If minimalist or shabby chic styles don't particularly appeal to you, the best solution is to mix styles by combining colours and forms with confidence, but always with balance.
